Abstract
This study is performed to utilize the alcohol distillers¢¥ waste for the production of yeasts as protein sources as well as to treat waste microbiologically.
1. The raw material, alcohol distillers¢¥ waste, of this experiment consists of insoluble solids(residue) and filtrate (supernatant). The residue contains 14.88% of crude protein and 16.20% of total sugar, respectively. The filtrate using the Toyo No. 50 filter paper contains 0.04% of total nitrogen and 0.53% of reducing sugar. The pH of filtrate is 4.0 and specific gravity is 1.09.
2. The optimum culture medium of S. cerevisiae YUFE-1 is ammonium sulfate, 0.47 g; potassium phosphate, monobasic, 0.22 g and magnesium sulfate, 0.20g were added in 100ml of filtrate. Optimum temperature and pH are 30¡É and 4. 0, respectively.
3. The optimum culture medium of C. tropicalis YUFE-1 is ammonium sulfate, 2.36g; potassium phosphate, monobasic, 0.22g and magnesium sulfate, O. 20g were added in 100ml of filtrate. Optimum temperature and pH are same as that of S. cerevisiae YUFE-1.
